ElderDog Canada helps to maintain relationships between older people and their dogs for as long as possible but can only do this with assistance.

We need your help.

The family dog can be a significant partner in many people's lives and it is ElderDog's role to help keep people and their canine companions together. Seniors sometimes find it increasingly challenging to care for their companion dog the way that they prefer and often must give up their long-time animal friend perhaps because of health or financial challenges. ElderDog helps to keep people together with their dogs — their friends — until they must be separated.

ElderDog Canada welcomes volunteers to help ElderDog grow at the local level in communities across Canada and at the national level.

KEY POSITIONS REQUIRED INCLUDE:

VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS AND PAWD LEADERS IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS CANADA

FRONT-LINE VOLUNTEERS: to help with dog care support for seniors and to foster elder dogs

ADMINISTRATIVE VOLUNTEERS AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL:

  • Communications and Sponsorships Facilitator
  • Regional Coordinators
  • Fund Raising Coordinator
  • Legal Advisor
