Become a Member

As a national, community-based, non-profit and registered charitable organization, ElderDog Canada Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors, regulated by a set of by-laws, and run by member volunteers.

There are two levels of membership. A Full Member of ElderDog Canada must be at least 18 years old, have successfully completed a Membership Application, and paid a membership fee of $20.00. Full membership carries with it the right to participate in ElderDog members’ meetings and vote on items of ElderDog business. Persons less than 18 years of age and others, who contribute time and resources to ElderDog Canada, may be eligible to become Associate Members of ElderDog Canada. Associate Members do not have voting privileges.


Members of ElderDog Canada are the organization’s ambassadors and spokespersons. As such, members must uphold a commitment to furthering ElderDog’s objectives and adhering to the principles and values of ElderDog Canada. Persons who have been convicted of any inhumane act towards an animal and / or crime against a person are not eligible to become a member of ElderDog Canada.

To become a Full Member of ElderDog please complete and return the Membership Application. A modest fee of $20.00 covers costs associated with application assessment and orientation material. Successful membership applicants will receive an ElderDog membership card and orientation material related to the organization.
